Board of Directors

Megan DeCoste, President

Megan has been a volunteer with Child Find PEI since 2008 and joined as a board member in November 2012. She has since taken on the role of President of the organization.

Megan has recently graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island taking both Sociology and Anthropology and has future plans to enter the Child Welfare field of Social Work. She currently works as a teacher at a nearby daycare and coffee shop, and has 7 years of coaching youth Soccer for the Winsloe West Royalty Soccer Club. She has travelled to Panama to live and study primates in May 2012 and has a passion for all things crafty, child development and safety, photography and her friends and family.

Janet Dalziel, Secretary

Janet Dalziel has been a resident of Prince Edward Island all her life. She has 2 grown children, one son Coady and daughter-in-law Crystal and one daughter Katlyn and her fiancé Jared and they have a son Deegan.

During the last 15 years Janet has worked primarily in the not-for-profit sector as administrative support. She was employed for 10 years as the Administrative Assistant for The Kidney Foundation of Canada, from there she worked a term position at the Canadian Cancer Society and is now employed as the Executive Assistant at Girl Guides of Canada - PEI Council.

Janet became a volunteer with Child Find PEI in January 2012 and was elected Secretary with the Board of Directors in February 2013.

Angelia Little, Case Worker

Angelia joined Child Find PEI as a volunteer in August 2012 and became a Board Member in January 2013 and is currently doing Case work for the organization. Angelia is originally from Nova Scotia and has a background in Human Services Counselling and Management as well as over 15 years experience of working with high risk youth. Angelia currently works as a substitute Educational Assistant with the Eastern School District, Personal Support Worker at Kingswood Centre, Montague and as an On-Site Supervisor at Camp Gencheff, Stratford. Some of her other interests include Herbology, Aboriginal Awareness, Organic gardening and Reiki practioner.

Mary Scott, Case Manager/Advisor

Mary is a 25 year volunteer with Child Find PEI, and was instrumental in getting the organization started on the Island in 1988. She has served on both Child Find PEI and Child Find Canada Boards and at present is the Case Manager and Advisor to the Board. Some of Mary's special accomplishments with Child Find are: setting up Child Find Newfoundland and Labrador; assisted in re-establishing Child Find in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick; spearheading the school fingerprinting project on Prince Edward Island; hosting a National Conference for Child Find Canada in Summerside, PEI; and, assisting with the AMBER Alert program on PEI.

Born in New Brunswick, Mary has lived on Prince Edward Island for the last 29 years. She works in Research at Veterans Affairs Canada in Charlottetown. She has been involved with Girl Guides of Canada and the Lioness Club. Her hobbies include travelling, sewing, reading, photography, and music. Mary has three children and four grandchildren, all of whom live off the Island.
